FLAT FEES: It is our standard practice to charge a flat legal fee, agreed to in advance, based upon services rendered. We believe that a flat fee arrangement gives both parties a clear understanding of expectations and eliminates the frustration of unexpected legal fees often associated with the typical law firm hourly billing model. Unlike hourly billing, efficiency and open communication are encouraged when an attorney-client relationship includes flat fee billing.
ACCESIBILTY: Michael L. Smith strives to return all phone calls or e-mails in an efficient manner. Additionally, clients will not incur additional fees for routine phone calls, e-mails, faxes, or written communication. Our practice is specifically designed to encourage open dialogue between attorney and client.
FREE INITIAL CONSULATION: Persons in need of legal services should not be afraid to seek out legal advice simply because they think it will be too expensive. Quality legal advice cannot be purchased at bargain prices and you typically do get what you pay for, however, Michael L. Smith, provides a free one-half (1/2) hour initial consultation to potential clients. A no obligation initial consultation provides attorney and potential client an opportunity to mutually determine if our services are a good fit for their needs.
CUSTOMIZED LEGAL SOLUTIONS: Our goal is to provide clients with customized legal solutions which meet client's personal or business objectives. Therefore, Michael L. Smith only takes on a select number of clients at a time, which allows each client to receive his full professional attention.
PERSONAL SERVICE: As a small, boutique law practice, we are able to provide individualized personal attention to each of our clients. Unlike many larger law firms, a licensed Tennessee attorney and not a paralegal or secretary will be responsible for handling a client's legal matter. Our aim is to provide clients with a refreshing alternative to the large law firm experience.
